Tasted blind. Greyish crimson. Delicate and a touch of graphite. Fine-boned and juicy. Fresh but a bit austere. (JH)

The 2013 Poujeaux has a light, herbaceous nose that is nicely defined but at the end of the day, just lacks vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with gritty tannin, compact and rather attenuated, the finish skinny and needing more flesh. There is nothing terrible about this Poujeaux - just that it feels anonymous at the moment.
Soft black fruit with a jamminess on the nose becoming much more savoury on the finish. Quite a sour tang to finish – strangely incongruous to the nose. Pretty pushy tannin too. (RH)
