The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny Les Echanges is an attractive, fleshy wine endowed with considerable mid-palate sweetness and plenty of Chambolle sensuality. It flows with layers of red berries and flowers, all of which take shape beautifully in the glass. Hints of tar and licorice add complexity on the round finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2028. I was quite taken with the handful of 2008 reds I tasted from Remoissenet. The estate likes to pick late and use a fair amount of new oak, an approach that worked beautifully in this vintage, which I prefer to 2009 based on what I have tasted thus far.
