2012 Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

(vinified by Laurent, with 50% whole clusters): Sexy red fruits, truffle and game on the perfumed nose. Sweet and inviting on the palate, with the raspberry and mocha flavors complicated by an animal quality. Finishes with youthfully tough tannins. Laurent noted that my sample did not include the portion of the cuvee from vines in the southern part of the appellation.
