A stunningly good wine from this property, which is owned by Bruno Segond, this blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot is very impressive. A sleeper of the vintage, the wine has loads of black currant and blackberry fruit intermixed with some subtle smoke, new saddle leather, Christmas fruitcake and spice box. Long and fleshy, with a full-bodied mouthfeel, and deep, nicely etched, sweet tannins in the heady finish, it will be at its best over the next decade. A member of the Alliance des Cru Bourgeois du Medoc.

Cassis and dark plum. Intense tannins require time for integration. (YS)
Easy, well balanced but a bit inky and even sour on the end. Good density but I don’t think the overall impression will beguile. (JR)
