Punteggio 86/100 · Da bere 2002-2012, Robert Parker, Feb 1997

After years of mostly mediocre performances, this property has begun to show signs of life with a very good 1995. The dark purple-colored 1995 is one of the finest wines made at Rauzan-Gassies in decades. It exhibits plenty of pure, ripe, blackcurrant fruit, and high quality toasty oak. Medium-bodied, with a sweet entry on the palate, good ripeness, and a layered, elegant style, this is a vast improvement over recent efforts. It will drink well young and last for 15 years. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2012.

Glorious aromas of violets and fruit, with hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and an ultralong finish. Best after 2002. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 1998
