1996 Nuits St Georges Les Argillas

This dark-colored wine (from 15 and 40 year old vines) has powerful aromas of freshly brewed coffee laced with mocha-cream. This thick, intense, mouth-coating, profound, and rich wine is medium-to-full-bodied, concentrated, and expressive. Its jammy cassis, black cherry, and blackberry flavors are intermingled with chalk and minerals. This offering's impressive finish reveals loads of superbly ripened tannins enveloped in sweet dark fruits. Projected maturity: 2001-2006.
