The 2012 Haut-Bergey is quite forward and heady on the nose with ample red fruit, baked cherries, fig compote and a touch of black olive. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit. Good weight, quite muscular in style, though the finish just comes across a bit too lactic. Tasted blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting.

The 2012 Haut-Bergey is plump, juicy and forward. Sweet red cherries, plums, smoke, tobacco, licorice and herbs are all pushed forward in a supple Pessac Léognan to drink over the next few years.
