Very dark crimson. Sweet and thick and rather Pape Clément like. A much fruitier, more complete drink than most of its peers. Only very very slightly over-oaked. (JR)
Good colour. Full and bloody. Lots of sweet ripeness and a beginning, a middle and an end to the overall impression. This château is really trying! (JR)
A sexy combination of blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry fruit in addition to graphite and barbecue spices jumps from the glass of this earthy, soft, medium-bodied 2001. Elegant, up-front, and seductive, with a plush texture as well as fine depth, it can be enjoyed over the next 10-11 years.

Since Paul Garcin took over running this estate in 2014, it has become one of Pessac-Léognan’s most exciting addresses. Biodynamic and with a minimalist approach, Ch. Haut-Bergey makes pure and expressive wines that offer both great value and a taste of the modern Bordeaux.
