Bright crimson. Hearty, ripe nose. Easy, rather unambitious fruit. Almost soft! (JR)
A superb wine from the Southern Medoc, this blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc is a real sleeper of the vintage. Floral notes intermixed with forest floor, black currant and some subtle smoke and truffle are all present in this seriously endowed, full-bodied wine that is performing beautifully. Located not that far from the classified growth La Lagune, D’Agassac has hit pay dirt with this beauty, which sells for a very realistic price. A member of the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Medoc.
50% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc. Notably dark crimson. Fresh, super-aromatic. But ripe underneath with classic dry finish. Far from opulent but very correct. Just a little austere on the end. 15.5 16-23 (JR)
