Pretty blueish crimson. Sweet, rich, already quite complex and convincing Vougeot aromas. Some hint of compost but nothing remotely rot-like. Masses of fruit and pzazz. Some delicacy too. Lots here for both current pleasure and future development. Good broad presence in the mouth. But a pretty distinctive wine overall! (JR)

Bright red fruit, spices, mint and crushed rocks emerge from the 2011 Clos Vougeot. Here it is the wine's purity and transparency that stand out. The 2011 bristles with energy and tension. It will be interesting to see if the Clos Vougeot puts on weight in bottle. There is plenty to look forward to here.
Bright, dark red. Aromas of black and red cherry, licorice, mint and spices. Juicy and sharply delineated, with lovely lift to the juicy flavors of medicinal cherry and cardamom. A youthfully vibrant Clos Vougeot with firm tannic spine and excellent length. This, too, is a bit tough in the early going.
Dark crimson. Heady. Sumptuous nose. Very tight and tough on the end. Too brutal for me. Very introvert. (JR)
