Medium red. Deeply pitched aromas of currant, chocolate and menthol. Chewy, round and rich; at once lush and sappy, with intriguing flavors of maraschino cherry, minerals and smoke. Finishes ripely tannic and long. (ST)

Good full red. Medicinal black cherry, licorice and some herbal nuances. Then supple and rich, with enticing sweetness and minerality. Doesn't show the clarity of the best vintages, but then this is still a bit clenched today following a recent sulfuring. Builds nicely toward the back, finishing long and spicy, with dusty, slightly drying tannins.
