Dark purple. Smoky herb- and oak-accented cherry and blueberry aromas are deepened by vanilla and mocha. Fat and sweet, with deep dark fruit and candied licorice flavors tightened by firm but velvety tannins. The herbal character builds with air and clashes with the wine's sweet fruit and charry oak, creating a sweet/bitter disjointedness. Will this resolve with time?
