Dany and Michel Rolland's home estate has produced a dense, ruby/purple-colored wine with an intriguing perfume of espresso, sweet vanilla, and black cherry jam. It is powerful and concentrated for a 1999. This medium to full-bodied, moderately tannic Pomerol is atypically structured, with plenty of grip, length, and intensity. It is a superb effort for the vintage Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016.

Good ruby-red. Complex aromas of raspberry, cassis, plum liqueur, violet, licorice, mint and alluring oak. Dense and supple, but with a firm edge keeping its sweetness under wraps. Complicating note of dark chocolate. Finishes with big, dusty tannins and very good persistence.

Famed winemaking consultant Michel Rolland is synonymous with this estate. The vines here were purchased by his grandparents and he ran the property from 1979. Although Rolland still makes the wine today, he sold the estate in 2013.
