A linear and refreshing red with violets, roses, sandalwood and mushrooms. Medium-bodied and linear with a touch of mint, bay leaf and sage. Firm and crisp with a racy finish. So youthful and and vivid. Really beautiful now. Ethereal already.

Magnum. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, remainder: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. Perfumed lift and resinous mountain herbs followed by a mix of ripe fruits and spiced sugar plum. Notes of cedar emerge on the palate to provide the flavour of a perfectly aged Napa Cabernet. The 1993 offers a balance of power and finesse that is most alluring. The palate becomes progressively more stimulating with air. This would be beautiful with food that respects the nuance of the wine. (ECB)
Magnum. Don Weaver made this. Very nice evolution and this has aged really pretty well. Dusty end. A not unpleasant hint of seaweed. Definitely drying out but a very recognisable relation of the mature California Cabs of the 70s and 60s. Fresh finish. Up my alley! (JR)
