Healthy full medium red. Ripe strawberry and raspberry scents are complicated by a note of cocoa powder. Round, plush and horizontal, showing saline and herbal nuances to the red fruit and spice flavors. Not a sweet style but spreads out nicely to saturate the mouth. The tannins are dusty and ripe.

Very smart nose with a hint of oak. Lots of race and energy though the oak is just a tad obvious. You'll need to wait quite a while for this. (JR)
(vinified with 40% whole clusters): Good bright, dark red. Red fruits, spices and rose petal on the nose. Juicy and precise on the palate, with a distinctly iron-like quality to the saline red berry and spice flavors. This boasts a strong spine, with the dusty tannins showing a slightly dry, peppery quality. Here, too, I was aware of the stems.
