Fresh medium red color. Very sexy, vibrant aromas of raspberry and cherry pit complicated by truffle, game, leather and caramel. Wonderfully sweet, fine-grained and ripe; very concentrated and firm but not quite hard, with an edge to the acidity that may never disappear. (Then-winemaker Pascal Marchand did a lot of pigeage .) This wine may have been even better for gentler handling but this is savory and full of flavor and life, still with many years of life ahead of it. Finishes with substantial ripe tannins, a note of olive tapenade and lingering flavors of raspberry, brown spices and truffle.

Good deep medium red. Complex aromas of black cherry, spices, underbrush, fresh herbs and rose petal. Sweet, dense, concentrated and vibrant, with an impressively lush texture for the vintage.
