Dark fruits, with black olives and aged cedar on the nose. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and chocolate, toasted oak and vanilla undertones. Give it time to come together. Better in 2016. James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

Mineral, blueberry and wet earth aromas follow through to a full body, with pretty, velvety tannins and a long coffee, chocolate, vanilla and fruit aftertaste
Tasted at the Pomerol Syndicate tasting. This has a fleshy nose of macerated red cherries with a touch of alcohol evident (although the sample had been opened a while.) The palate has a saturated mouthfeel, smooth texture, fleshy with well integrated new oak, modern in style and missing a touch of delineation, but there is panache. Tasted April 2010.
Toasty oak nose. Very smooth fruit. Not as intense or deep- flavoured as some. A little awkward.

Chantal Lebreton-Reynaud is in charge of this 4.2-hectare estate, working with her three sons (Jean-Pascal, Olivier and Julien). The plots sit on gravel and sandier soils, in the hamlet of Pignon, in the north of Pomerol.
