Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2015-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2013

The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Beaux Bruns is turning into a beautiful Burgundy. There are plenty of bright red berries, raspberry and wild strawberry on the seamless nose, with a hint of marmalade loitering in the background. The palate displays fine concentration, quite powerful and perhaps more masculine than Ghislaine Barthod’s usual style, but it is adorned with a compelling spicy finish. This is only beginning to show what it can do. Drink 2015-2025.

Medium red. Slightly reduced nose hints at orange peel and caramel. Then sweet and supple on the palate, with lovely red fruit flavors complicated by strong soil tones. Has much more middle-palate flesh to support its acidity than Barthod's village Chambolle. Finishes broad and persistent. A good vintage for this bottling.

Bright, deep red. Slightly reduced aromas of dark fruits and licorice. Then surprisingly sweet and silky in the middle palate but with good energy to go with its ripe fruit flavors. I like this wine's medicinal reserve and echoing, minerally back end. Offers the enticing combination of fresh acidity and fleshiness that I routinely found in this wine in the '90s but have missed in some recent warm years.
