Note di degustazione
Dark plum/garnet to the rim, with plenty of tannin, earth and spice, this wine is still somewhat angular and austere but displays good fruit and the upside potential for another 5-7 years, although I don’t know if enough tannin will resolve itself to reach complete harmony.

Notably closed on the nose, then leafy on the palate but still reasonably juicy even though the tannins finish a little dry. (JH)
Slightly dull crimson. Relatively simple red wine notes plus quite marked oaking. Very dry finish. No shortage of acidity! Nor alcohol – hot finish. (JR)

Situated at the highest point in the Médoc (at a huge 43 metres above sea-level), this estate is thought to be named after a spring on the site, from which Henry II supposedly drank (a “royal fountain”).
