2001 Gevrey Chambertin Evocelles

Fashioned from a 75-year old parcel that yielded a measly 19 hectoliters per hectare, the 2001 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles explodes from the glass with chocolate-covered black cherries, blueberries, and jammy blackberry aromas. This concentrated, medium-bodied wine slathers the palate with incessant layers of sweet, intense fruit. Lush, juicy blackberries, dark cherries, spices, and mocha can be found throughout this outstanding offering's character as well as in its exceptionally long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2012.
