Note di degustazione
The 2000 Mâcon-Villages is at the peak of its powers, soaring from the glass with an expressive bouquet of honeycomb, ripe pears, musky peach, vine blossom and orange oil that could come from nowhere but the Mâconnais. Full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's generous and textural, with an ample core of fruit, racy acids and a long, expansive and perfumed finish.

The 2000 Macon-Villages Quintaine (Domaine de la Bongran) has a floral, ripe pear, and apple-scented nose. Medium-bodied, it coats the palate with minerals, white fruits, and gravel. This focused, rich, yet crisp wine has exquisite balance, depth, and delineation. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2010. Importer: Wines of France, Alain Junguenet Selections, Mountainside, NJ; tel. Informazioni sul produttore

Domaine de la Bongran is no ordinary Mâconnais estate. Since Jean Thévenet took over the domaine in 1972, this Viré-Clessé producer has become a cult name – with Jean a pioneer of organics and minimal intervention, as well as the estate’s unique wine style.
