Now owned by Nicholas Thienpont, this small 11.5-acre vineyard is planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2001 exhibits aromas of toasty, smoky new oak intermixed with black currants, cherries, dried herbs, and cranberries. Medium-bodied and pure, with an excellent texture, this is an attractive effort from this satellite appellation. Enjoy it over the next 2-4 years.

Nicolas Thienpont purchased this estate in the Francs Côtes de Bordeaux in 2000. The seven hectares of vines average 40 years in age, divided between 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, sitting partly on the limestone plateau in the village Saint-Cibard.
