The name of this property is about to be suffixed 1.2 by the new owners, the Chinese Kwok family, to acknowledge all the work there, inside and in vineyards. Lacks freshness. Rather oxidised fruit. Powdery, hot finish. (JR)

This beautiful 2011 St.-Emilion possesses a sumptuous texture, lots of rich, earthy, black currant and black cherry fruit and spice box characteristics, a round, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and impressive purity, texture and length. Already strutting its stuff, it can be drunk now and over the next 10-12 years. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is a sleeper of the vintage.
Blueberry and cherry character with hint of smoke follow through to a full body, with big velvety tannins. A little overworked but not overdone. Could turnout outstanding quality with the elevage. jamessuckling.com
