Note di degustazione
The 2009 La Tour de Mons is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. It has a perfumed bouquet with menthol notes infused with red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, a little medicinal in style. The palate is medium-bodied with an appealing roundness and good volume in the mouth. There is a strong graphite seam threaded from start to finish, well judged acidity, quite linear towards the finish but long, fresh and classic in style. This is worth seeking out. Tasted in Bordeaux.

40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Grape harvest reception was improved with the purchase of a new sorting table and destemmer. A new machine was also acquired to improve the harvest on some plots. Dark glowing ruby. Very light nose. There is some sweet ripe fruit on the front palate but much less lushness than one might expect. A really rather pinched finish. Ungenerous – which is not what one would expect of a 2009. Some persistence though. (JR)
40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. A bit of Marmite yeast extract and a hint of moss on the nose. Very solid and firm with marked dry tannins after impressively ripe but not sweet fruit. More solid than a stereotypical Margaux but a very creditable wine. (JR)
