Deep crimson. Very serious old-fashioned burgundy flavours. This is what we're looking for! I suspect this wine may be relatively early maturing, but will certainly deliver pleasure in spades. (JR)

Medium red-ruby. Complex nose combines black cherry, licorice, mocha and a hint of game. Densely packed but tightly wound, with black fruit and licorice flavors currently dominated by the wine structure and firm underlying minerality. Less sweet today than the en Champs bottling, but firm, stylish and persistent. This should ultimately prove to be the stronger bottle, but the en Champs is more compelling today.
