Note di degustazione
The 1985 Clos Fourtet was served from double magnum. Despite the larger format and impeccable provenance, the aromatics just feel a little one-dimensional within the context of the vintage, with overripe strawberry that's been left in the car too long on a hot summer's day, plus a dab of caramel. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and smooth, missing some depth and oddly a bit saccharine on the finish. So-so. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux.

The 1985 Clos Fourtet is the lightest of all the Premier Grand Cru Classe wines. Medium ruby, with a supple, monolithic, fruity taste, and soft tannins, it has an easy, agreeable finish. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 3/90.
