Punteggio 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2013

(bottled in April of 2012): Good bright, deep red. Very pure, Chambolle-like aromas of flowers, minerals, earth, herbs and pepper. Then silky and smooth in the mouth, with a saline quality and smoky minerality carrying through the rising finish. Perhaps a bit warm at 13.25% natural alcohol, but this silky, lightly peppery wine is long for village wine.

The 2010 Morey St. Denis is soft, perfumed and impeccably elegant. Rose petals, red berries, licorice and sweet spices are some of the nuances that are woven together in this finessed, silky Burgundy. The 2010 looks to have considerable early appeal. It is a gorgeous wine at this level and a great introduction to the domaine.

A mix of sweet fruit and a slightly leafy note. A touch peppery. Delicate red fruit on the mid palate, fine and fragrant. Relatively light but has lovely fresh length. (JH)

(one-third new oak; 13% alcohol without chaptalization): Exotic red berry liqueur aroma complicated by clove, cinnamon and pepper. Supple, sweet and very ripe, with raspberry, smoke and coffee flavors lifted by high-pitched spices. Nicely concentrated and fat for this village wine, but also has a firm spine running through it. Finishes with ripe tannins and good length.
