Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2013-2019, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2012

The 2009 Morey St. Denis is a gracious, entry-level wine laced with juicy red cherries, herbs, licorice and tobacco. There is a slight angularity to some of the contours, which is pretty much the only thing that detracts from the wine's overall sense of harmony and balance.

I found the 2009s from Clos des Lambrays showed much better from bottle than they did when I tasted them from barrel. Importer: Peter Weygandt, Unionville, PA; tel. (610) 486-0800

Medium red. Aromas of candied strawberry and raspberry. Sweet, fat and seamless, showing impressive volume for a village wine--especially one carrying just 12.8% alcohol. Not the last word in definition or lift but attractive for drinking right now. Finishes with broad, fine tannins and very good length.

Light cherry red. Very fresh, natural and relaxed. Just a lovely wine for fairly early drinking. Seems so much less tense and deliberately styled than many others. Ripe but finishes dry. Long. GV (JR)
