Cheval Blanc had a disastrous year in 1977 with over 75% of the crop lost because of the poor weather. The resulting wine should have been declassified. It is light in color, with a sweet vegetable aroma and shallow flavor, and has a nasty, harsh, astringent finish. Last tasted, 10/90.
