Punteggio 92/100 · Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider, Sep 2018

Developing quite nicely, the wine offers freshness, crushed rocks, stones, florality, plums, espresso and thyme. Silky in texture, with a juicy, crisp character to the fruit in the finish, this is already starting to drink quite nicely. The wine was made from blending 70% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2018-2033, Neal Martin, Vinous, Apr 2018

The 2008 Beau-Séjour Bécot was picked between 7 and 22 October. This has a very lively bouquet with blackberry, wild strawberry and hints of Seville orange marmalade, the oak neatly integrated and with just the right amount of spiciness to keep you entertained. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin with a fine line of acidity, just a little lactic in texture, veins of dark chocolate coming through with aeration. There is impressive depth here, not to mention a sense of sensuality towards the persistent finish. Bon vin. Tasted at the château.

Tasted blind. Attractive freshness on the nose, and lots of rigour (Cabernet?) on the palate. Quite severe acidity on the finish. Finely grating tannins.
