Note di degustazione
(bottled in July of 2011): Good fresh dark red. Aromatic nose combines redcurrant, tobacco, dried flowers and graphite. The juicy but tight palate displays a cool mineral precision and a saline nuance that animates the red berry and floral flavors. Silky, energetic and light on its feet, finishing with a distinctly savory quality, suave but firm tannins and lingering perfume. "For me, this is the magical terroir of the domain," noted director Edouard Labruyere. "The site is very alive; there's always air movement in the vines."

Good medium red with ruby highlights. Sexy, perfumed nose combines crushed blueberry, cassis, minerals and flowers. Dense, ripe and precise, with terrific lift and energy to the flavors of black fruits and flowers. Finishes very long and fresh, with firm tannins perfectly balanced by the wine's fresh fruit and floral lift. Insiders know that this is frequently Domaine Prieur's finest red, as the vines in the lieu-dit Les Poulallieres, which are open to cool breezes flowing through the Combe d'Orveaux, do particularly well in warmer years. This wine always has the lowest pH, notes Gublin.
