Red-ruby. Aromas of currant and tobacco leaf lifted by a floral nuance. A bit lacking in density but nicely aromatic, with slightly green flavors of black cherry, licorice and herbs. Shows some spiky acidity and modest mid-palate depth, but finishes with rather soft tannins.
Deeply colored, with a slightly herbal, stony nose revealing red currant, spice box, and damp earth characteristics, the 2002 is medium-bodied and cleanly made, with slightly tart acid in the finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
Low-key, meaty, non-vibrant nose. Thick, quite heavy, sweet nose. Chewy. Long-term wine. (JR)

The Cazes family – owners of Lynch-Bages – added this Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois estate to their portfolio in 1940, just one year after they purchased Lynch-Bages. The property comprises 32 hectares of vines in the north of the appellation, close to the village of Pez.
