The 1997 is round and easy-going, with low acidity and a nose of vanilla, dried herbs, and red currant fruit. It is best drunk over the next 5-6 years.

Delicious, with plum, spice and vanilla character. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a fresh fruit finish. Drink now through 2004. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 2000.

The Cazes family – owners of Lynch-Bages – added this Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois estate to their portfolio in 1940, just one year after they purchased Lynch-Bages. The property comprises 32 hectares of vines in the north of the appellation, close to the village of Pez.
