50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. 25% new oak for 16 months. Dark shaded garnet. Edgy but exciting nose with massive concentration. Most impressive to have lasted this long! And still give the impression of having something still to give. Long and reverberant. VGV (JR)

From the well-known Courrian family, this has always been a very reliable, long-lived, tannic, masculine style of cru bourgeois. In 2009 it is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and it again shows a rustic earthiness, but there are also oodles of black currant fruit along with hints of tobacco leaf and spring flowers. This is well-made wine that will benefit from several years of cellaring and drink well for 10-12+ years, based on other top vintages. (A member of the Association of Crus Bourgeois du Medoc.)
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Lightly minty blackcurrant but also a very ripe note that's more prune-like but not raisined. Fresher on the palate but rich and fleshy though the tannin structure is there to undergird it. (JH)
Some berry and currant, with mint. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fruity finish. Hollow center palate. But should improve with barrel age
