This is always a concentrated, powerful wine. I thought there may have been just a slight touch of cork in the 2005 Tour Haut-Cassan, but I was still able to evaluate it. Proprietor Philippe Courrian usually over-delivers in terms of intensity, power, richness and ageability, and this wine, from such a big, concentrated, tannic vintage, is still a relatively youthful wine at age ten. Dense ruby/purple and ripe, with notes of new saddle leather, earth and spice, it is a powerful wine that needs to be forgotten for another several years and drunk over the following 10+ years.
