Very deep crimson. Light, sweetly fragrant nose. A bit chewy and lacks freshness. A bit dull and hum-ho. (JR)

Looks a bit more evolved than most and not the deepest. Indistinct, light, rather amorphous nose. Rather supple and beguiling on the palate. Again, an inky finish which follows slightly facile sweetness. Messy finish. But well made up to look good! More typically Listrac than the Fourcas Hosten – but is that a good thing?! Dry finish. Will probably always taste a little dry. (JR)
A strong effort for Fourcas Dupre, this dense ruby/purple-hued 2003 possesses earthy black currant fruit interwoven with hints of underbrush and tree bark as well as an attractive texture, medium body, low acidity, and a long, slightly tannic finish. Consume it over the next decade.
