Note di degustazione
Tobacco, smoked earth, white pepper, baked apple crumble. This was harvested into mid October because owner François Mitjavile was so nervous of having rustic tannins, and certainly these are supple and graceful, if finely boned at this point. Salted cracker on the finish add lift. It's a wine that could be overlooked, and yet is a perfect example of an 89 point bottle that is made for sharing. 100% new oak.

Less impressive in the bottle than cask tastings suggested, this wine displays a soft ruby color, a soft, spicy, earthy, truffle-like nose, tasty, round, ripe, medium-bodied flavors, and an easy-going finish. It tastes noticeably less fat and concentrated since bottling. Anticipated maturity: now-2003.
