Empty bottle 500 g. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot fermented in concrete tanks. Aged for 12 months in French 225-litres oak barrels, one-third new, one-third one year old and one-third two years old. RS 0.2 g/l. Free SO 2 36 mg/l, total SO 2 109 mg/l. Glowing dark garnet. Lots of evolution here resulting in a rather charming mature wine. VGV (JR)

Poured from a magnum. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot. Machine-picked, optical sorting machine on reception at the winery (used for the first time for this 2012 harvest). Fermentation and maceration in coated concrete tanks with temperature control. Aged for 12 months in French oak, one-third new, one-third one-year-old and one-third two-year-old barrels. Free SO 2 36 mg/l, total SO 2 109 mg/l, RS 0.2 g/l. Machine-picking! But the result is great balance and a silky wine with an appetising finish. Great for Christmas entertaining. GV (JR)
Paz Espejo has been manager for the Bouteillier family since 2004. Since 2011 she has moved this property more and more towards an environmentally sustainable model, as well as investing in modern technology to improve quality. Bright, layered crimson. Already quite mature on the nose. Sweet and fruity – not the subtlest bordeaux but easy to like. Dusty finish. Very dry end but truly Médoc! (JR)
Tasted blind. Blackish crimson. Light and fresh on the nose but a bit austere – far from super-ripe. Simple fruit. Hard work on the end. (JR)
