Oak, spices, and dark cherries can be detected in the nose of the ruby-colored 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Clos de l’Arlot. An extremely pretty wine, its sumptuous texture is reminiscent of liquid silk. There are no angles or edges to be found in this harmonious effort’s personality. Soft, sweet, creamy red cherries dominate its flavor profile. Drink it over the next 6-7 years. Good bright red. Lively, sweetly oaky aromas of raspberry, flowers, coffee and Oriental spices. Rich and sappy, with a strong oakiness apparent in the mid-palate and on the back. Offers good texture and moderate depth, with fairly primary flavors of cherry, raspberry and underbrush. Finishes with ripe tannins and subtle length.
