Full bottle 1,304 g. A wine I recommended highly after tasting it en primeur so I thought I'd see how it's coming along. Now that Madame Gasqueton has died, it has been renamed Capbern by the new owners of the mother estate Ch Calon Ségur. Garnet taking on a little maroon note with a pale rim. Still-intense nose and a dry finish without much tannin in evidence. The fruit is intense and distinctly savoury. Although there isn't much tannin, this is very much a wine for food. We're going to try it with baked Vacherin tonight. It was a great buy for claret lovers. (JR)

Crimson is beginning to lighten a little at the edges. Terroir fresh and very Cabernet on the nose with tannins in retreat. Clearly good classy stuff that's drinking well now. I tasted it cellar-cool and the tannins were not obtrusive at all. Nice fruity length. This really reverberates on the finish and was a great buy en primeur! (JR)
This looks a bit expensive…? Blackish ruby. Solid and dense. Classic combo of the austerity of St-Estèphe and the ripeness of 2009. Good stuff! GV (JR)
