1996 Gosset Grand Millesimes

62% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir. First bottle seriously TCA-affected. Second bottle didn’t have the cleanest of noses with its hint of cheesiness but it was a lot better. Again, a fairly sweet palate entry and then strong, even pretty tart, lemoniness on the edge. A bit sweet and sour without enough to hold these two elements together. This tastes as though the acidity is going to make is presence increasingly felt. (JR)
