Note di degustazione
The 2006 Durfort-Vivens has an odd eucalyptus-scented nose that obscures the terroir expression. The palate is sweet with candied red cherries and orange peel, though overall, it lacks tension and feels maybe a little "pushed" in the winery. This is not particularly enjoyable. Tasted at the Durfort-Vivens dinner at Portland restaurant.

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. Aged 18 months in barrel (43% new oak). Garnet hue with a touch of brick at the rim. Roasted and earthy on the nose with a hint of mint. Lift on the palate, the fruit present but tannins marked and slightly bitter on the finish. Strict and austere but still there, even if the finesse is missing. Ever so slightly wayward. (JL)
Very dark with some evolution. Rather bitter and confected. Not much fun really. (JR)
