Note di degustazione
The 1983 Durfort-Vivens was tasted from a double magnum directly from the estate. It has an elegant nose, leafier than the previous vintage, freshly rolled tobacco mingling with wild fennel. A light estuarine scent emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, balanced well with lithe tannins. Perhaps not quite as compelling as the 1982, yet it is so transparent and pretty that you cannot help falling for its charms. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux.

The well-balanced, admirably constructed, muscular 1983 Durfort is leaner and more austere than many of its Margaux counterparts. It has concentrated, ripe, rich fruitiness, plenty of aggressive tannins, and good length. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 2/91.
