Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2024-2032, Neal Martin, Apr 2024

The 1964 Talbot is poured from an ex-château double magnum; therefore, provenance could not be better. There is a satisfying level of red fruit still on the nose, infused with warm red brick, tobacco and mint. It's more cohesive than some of its Left Bank peers. The palate is medium-bodied with a balsamic-tinged entry, fine weight and a very slight citrus undertow. There's fine delineation on the finish. While this is not a great Talbot, it is better than expected and is worth seeking out if the provenance is sound. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux.

Punteggio 82/100 · Da bere 1979, Robert Parker, Jan 1998

This is an attractive, if uncomplex, 1964. Talbot is adequately fruity, chunky, a trifle hard and coarse in the finish, but overall, a good mouthful of claret. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 3/79.
