Note di degustazione
Beychevelle, owners of one of the great terroirs of the northern Medoc, continues to produce wines that are frustratingly irregular in quality. A dark ruby color is followed by a wine revealing plenty of new oak, a touch of pepper, but very little of the vegetal character found in many Medoc 1993s. Spicy fruit is present, but the wine is austere and tannic, although elegant and subtle. Anticipated maturity: now-2006.

Rather hollow '93, offering some decent berry, cherry and mint flavors and silky tannins but lacking in body. Slightly disappointing for this estate. Drinkable now. 25,000 cases made. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 1996.

Informazioni sul produttore

With greater care in the vineyard and more precision in the winery, Ch. Beychevelle's star is rising. That's in large part due to the leadership of Philippe Blanc and investment by current owners, Japanese brewers Suntory and French wine group Castel.
