Note di degustazione
Mortet's 2007 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is showing well, offering aromas of sweet berries, plums and spices framed by initially rather obtrusive oak that tends to integrate with a bit of time in the glass. Medium-bodied, ample and enveloping, a touch of back-end asperity hints at extraction pushed just a touch beyond what the vintage wanted to give. Yet it's still a strong performance for Arnaud Mortet's second solo vintage in a more challenging season.

Paler crimson than the 2009. Lighter nose than the 2009 and more obvious acidity. A bit pinched. (JR)
Bright ruby-red. Pure, high-pitched aromas of blackberry, licorice and flowers. Juicy and spicy, with modest flesh but very good definition and lift and a floral nuance. A bit dry on the back end, but quite lively, conveying an impression of ripe acidity.
The first sample (numbered 113 in the tasting even though I have not tasted everything!) that smelt a bit oxidised!! Very sweet and fruity. A bit simple and raw. Honest... (JR)
