Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2021-2030, Neal Martin, Aug 2021

The 2002 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru has a wonderful, quite sensual bouquet laden with red cherries, kirsch and orange pith, gaining aeration all the time in the glass. The palate has good grip, almost Morey-like in terms of backbone, a liberal sprinkling of black pepper and a smudge of dark chocolate toward the finish that feels a bit out of place. Still, it should offer another decade of pleasure.

Medium red. Very ripe aromas of strawberry, raspberry and minerals. Then lush, silky, sweet and suave, with musky flavors of red berries, spices and red pepper. Distinctly fatter and more pliant than the Chaignots. Here, too, the tannins are quite fine.

The enticing aromas of the 2002 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes display gorgeous violets, roses, and red cherries. This lovely, satin-textured effort is concentrated, gracious, pure, and long in the finish. It is medium-bodied and reveals a refined yet powerful core of flavors reminiscent of flower blossoms and cherries. Anticipated maturity: now-2014. Good full red. Musky aromas of strawberry and raspberry syrup. Lush, rich and supple but with good cut and verve. Less showy but also less evolved today than the two village wines. And a step up from the 2001 example in flavor development, length and sweetness of tannins.
