This is part of their experiment to compare Syrah and Mondeuse. Much lighter and fresher than the Syrah 2010. Terrible rainy year but the results are rather pleasing. (JR)

Normally I adore the wines from Carole Meredith, but the 2011 vintage appears to have been troublesome at this estate, with a vegetal 2011 Malbec, an emaciated, innocuous 2011 Mondeuse, and a pleasant and correct 2011 Zinfandel Tribidrag. Tel. (707) 253-0653
Floral, aromatic, dry-textured and richly flavoured. Slightly peppery, spicy, juicy, with tightly held grippy tannins. Flavour of wild berries and perfumed freshness. Possibly the only genuine Mondeuse in California (apart from some vines in old field blends). Planted 2007. (JH)
