Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2018-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, May 2016

Tasted at the vertical retrospective at the property. The 2011 Château Dauzac, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, is actually not dissimilar to the 2010, albeit with less intensity and drive. This is nicely detailed and it gradually unveils attractive blackberry and subtle violet scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is satisfactory weight here for a 2011, perhaps not the finesse or mineralité of the previous vintage, but there is appreciable length on the lightly spiced finish. Enjoy this over the next 15 years. Tasted June 2015.

Punteggio 13/20 · Da bere 2016, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Jan 2015

First bottle: Inky crimson. Aroma of very ripe damson, some dried fruit and raisiny, dry and lacking flesh on the palate. Second bottle: the same. Not sure I should have scored this as it really seemed out of condition. (JH)

Floral, light, a little dilute and underwhelming. Not showing off the Margaux typicality you might hope for. (RH)
