The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Cuveé le Petit Arlot impresses for its freshness and vibrancy. Dark red cherries, spices and licorice are some of the notes that are layered into the finish. I very much like the energy here. This is a fabulous 2009 that needs at least a few more years in the cellar.

I very much like the energy here. This is a fabulous 2009 that needs at least a few more years in the cellar. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2024. I was blown away by Domaine de l’Arlot’s 2009s when I tasted them from bottle. Most of the wines came in at the high end or above my projected scores from barrel. I found a purity and frankness in these wines that was compelling. Various American importers, including: A Daniel Johnnes Selection imported by Michael Skurnik Wines, Syosset, NY, tel. Medium red. Aromas of red fruits, truffle and earth. Fat with fruit but kept firm by surprising acidity and substantial tannins. Seems aromatically more evolved than the solid finish would suggest.
The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Cuveé le Petit Arlot is a beautiful entry-level wine. The perfumed bouquet adds complexity to a solid core of vibrant fruit. The Petit Arlot is made from young, ten-year-old vines.
